What happened, step by step.
Challenge
Edenred asked the team to find the main issues in how fleets pay for fuel, across managers, drivers and station staff, and make the process faster and more comfortable.
What they built
UpSand is a 3-in-1 fuel expense service. Drivers authenticate in an app or enter pump, plate and mileage, and the pump is released after validation. Managers get real-time data and a chatbot on a dashboard that flags anomalies. Hardware collects vehicle data.
Impact
Edenred sees these advances as essential to keep its customers successful. Further development to bring the solution to market was under discussion.

A data-powered fuel expenses management service that provides comfort to drivers, saves time from managers and limits frauds.
Challenge
Identify the main issues involved in how fleets pay for fuel, understanding the role each part plays in the process (managers, drivers, fuel station staff) and making it more comfortable, time saving and faster.Upsand is a 3-in-1 solution for fuel expenses management. The fleet driver now has a more comfortable way to pay for fuel in an app that automatically sends reports for servers (without getting out of the vehicle in Brazil). The manager accesses that information on a service center that provides time-saving analysis of the fleet expenses, improved by a virtual assistant chat-bot. And a hardware solution (TUB in France and OBD in Brazil) provides real-time data collection from fleet vehicles.
Solution
Upsand is a 3-in-1 solution for fuel expenses management. And a hardware solution (TUB in France and OBD in Brazil) provides real-time data collection from fleet vehicles.
Impact
The main proposed value is optimising time spent in the process. With Upsand, fleet drivers have a smoother way to report fuel expenses, managers have far more and more reliable data to work on and a better UX, powered by AI analysis to manage their fleets.
Edenred sees these advances as essential to keep their customers' success high and the lead in its industry. Further development is in discussion to bring the solution to market.
