What happened, step by step.
Challenge
Diakonie Baden wanted caregivers to take charge of their own well-being and to make care work more attractive. Staff face many daily obstacles, and existing solutions are hard to find.
What the team learned
Caregivers describe concrete daily problems: tracking patients' fluid intake, patients falling out of bed and back pain from carrying heavy patients.
What they built
A chat-based assistant used at shift handover. Caregivers describe a problem, InCosy suggests products from a large database, and chosen solutions go to the home lead in monthly reports for ordering and a guided team briefing. Caregiver feedback improves the suggestions.
Impact
Caregivers would gain a say in procurement and home leads the right tools faster. Diakonie becomes more attractive as an institution and employer.

InCosy empowers caregivers by connecting them with fitting solutions.
Challenge
How might we create a scalable solution that helps caregivers take charge of their own well-being and creates an attractive work environment?
Solution
InCosy is an innovative system designed to address the challenges faced by caregivers. It streamlines the process of collecting caregiver concerns during shift handovers and offers practical solutions through curated product recommendations. When a caregiver chooses a suggested solution, it seamlessly forwards the selection to the home lead who can then acquire the product and introduce it through a guided team briefing. Furthermore, to continuously enhance the system, caregivers are regularly invited to provide feedback, ensuring ongoing improvements and refinements to the suggestion system.
Impact
InCosy revolutionizes caregiving by actively engaging caregivers through its chat system, empowering them in the procurement process. Simultaneously, it assists home leads in acquiring essential tools, creating a better caregiving environment. With funding tips and comprehensive support, it enhances the appeal of Diakonie as an institution and employer. By combining caregiver empowerment, efficient procurement, and comprehensive support, InCosy drives positive change, ensuring caregiver satisfaction, advanced resources, and attracting top talent.
