The project · from brief to prototype

What happened, step by step.

01

Challenge

Saint-Gobain works with small independent repair centres across Brazil and asked how to improve their organisation and operations, so they can serve end customers better.

02

What the team learned

Repair centres did many tasks by hand and lacked management tools. Their main pains: demanding stock control, inefficient scheduling and decisions made without data.

03

What they built

Vigia is a mobile app for daily repair-centre tasks: checking, adding and removing stock, scheduling, customer registration and data analysis. A dashboard summarises key operational information.

04

Impact

Repair centres could serve more customers and decide with data. For Saint-Gobain, offering Vigia to its customers could expand its database.

In their words

I think that with this solution I will be able to abandon my notepad.

Vigia is a mobile app that provides a management system for the main daily tasks in a repair center.

Challenge

The challenge was to create a solution to better serve the stakeholders involved in an automotive glass replacement. Changing the glass of a vehicle is a complex task in itself. How to improve the efficiency and quality of this service? To answer this question, the Design Thinking Team focused on the repair center's main issues, and how to solve it.

Solution

Vigia is a mobile app that provides a management system for the main daily tasks in a repair center. When it comes to inventory management, you have the tasks of checking availability of a product, inserting a product in stock, or removing the product. In addition, this system has functionalities to facilitate other tasks of the repair center, such as scheduling, customer registration and a data dashboard, which summarizes important operational information. From Saint-Gobain's point of view, making Vigia available to its customers could open up possibilities such, as expanding the company's database.

Impact

Vigia's main objective is to make the tasks of repair centers much simpler and more efficient. Making stock control more accurate and faster, the employee and owner of the repair center will have information that will allow them to make better decisions. In addition, acting in the agility of tasks such as scheduling and registering customers, Vigia will allow the repair center to serve more customers more satisfactorily and make greater profits.
