What happened, step by step.
Challenge
CEiiA asked how monitoring, valuing and trading avoided emissions could nudge football fans into lower-CO2 travel habits that spread socially, last over time and show clear value to supporters and clubs.
What they built
A mobile app for match-day travel with personalised route planning, real-time emissions tracking, carpooling and a gamified system of challenges and rewards, plus social features and notifications. Full solution details are under a non-disclosure agreement.

Player 0 is a mobile app that encourages football fans to make greener travel choices on match days. It does this by providing personalized route planning, real-time emissions tracking, carpooling options, and a gamified system of rewards. With engaging challenges, social features, and smart notifications, the app empowers users to cut down on CO₂ emissions, monitor their impact, and earn rewards—creating a smooth, community-focused experience that turns travel into a meaningful climate action.
Challenge
How might we leverage on the cycle of monitoring –valorisation-transaction of avoided emissions to nudge football club fans into adopting new behaviours that avoid mobility-related CO2 emissions, while ensuring the changes are socially spreadable and sustainable over time, by using dynamics that leverage citizens' involvement and make explicit the value generated for the supporters and for the clubs?
