PsokeyAn app that lets psoriasis patients record symptoms and share a clear overview with their dermatologist.UCBModena IT · Paris FR
Problem
Psoriasis patients face stigma and lifelong treatment, and often abandon it. Consultations last 15 minutes, leaving little time to understand symptoms.
What they built
Patients log medical history, symptoms and crises in one app. During consultation, the physician opens a board view with a temporary code. Reminders and pharmacy ordering complete the service.
Impact
Consultations save time for both sides and focus on what matters. Patients carry less mental load and engage more in their care.
FuelA service that detects and predicts chronic fatigue so patients can plan their days.Sanofi Genzyme ItalyModena IT · Milan IT
Problem
Oncology and multiple sclerosis patients struggle with fatigue, an unpredictable exhaustion that disrupts daily life and makes it hard for others to support them.
What they built
Fuel reads physiological signals such as eye blinking and heart rate to recognise and predict fatigue and its triggers. An app for patients and caregivers helps plan what matters most.
Impact
Patients manage fatigue proactively and caregivers get tailored advice. The sponsor can open new partnerships with patient associations and scientific societies.
FloWasteA computer-vision analytics system that measures plate waste in canteens and guides menus and portions.FoodCloudModena IT · Dublin IE
Problem
A third of all food is wasted, a quarter of it in hospitality and food service. FoodCloud asked for a step change in that sector by 2020.
What they built
FloWaste tracks what comes back on plates using computer vision and customer feedback, records waste per diner and feeds gamified awareness campaigns and better ordering decisions.
Impact
Lower disposal costs, up to €200,000 a year for some businesses, and more awareness. FoodCloud can offer the system to companies and redistribute surplus food.
KintsugiA three-part automated storage system that supplies food, goods and information after earthquakes.YanmarModena IT · Kyoto JP
Problem
Italy and Japan both suffer earthquakes. People who stay in their damaged homes suffer physically and mentally and lack goods, information and community.
What they built
Kintsugi combines an information zone with a display for volunteers, an automatic food distribution zone with fixed portions per person, and a hand distribution zone for supplies and contact.
Impact
Supplies and information for house refugees, and face-to-face distribution that builds community.
Domus Sapiens platformA smart-home platform that links sensors, automation devices and service providers for home facility management.eFMEspoo FI · Modena IT
Problem
Connect customers and service providers in facility management in a smart way, combining technology appliances and social networks.
What they built
Domus Sapiens aggregates data from home sensors to help people monitor, control and maintain their homes, detect failures and reach the right service provider immediately.
Impact
Residents control their homes, automate maintenance and get help from a maintenance professional when needed.
FlemoA car-sharing concept where each customer defines their own private sharing community and conditions.AUDISt. Gallen CH · Modena IT
Problem
Mobility and community thinking are changing. Audi wants to address mobility and connectivity through community services that bind customers.
What they built
Flemo combines community, connectivity and mobility. Users decide with whom, when and under which conditions they share, meeting the needs for flexibility and control.
Impact
Car sharing that fits single households, families, students, neighbourhoods and companies alike, instead of one model for all.
